Tertium Organum
March 8, 2014

While rebinding a tattered, first edition copy of Tertium Organum by P. D. Ouspensky, I found this bookplate which I just couldn't throw away. The Sunwise Turn was a bookstore founded in New York in 1916. I purchased the book from an online seller based in California so I like to think I've brought the book back home.
You can find a little more info about the Sunwise Turn here.
This edition was translated, designed and published by Claude Bragdon and Manas Press in Rochester, NY in 1922. Bradgon was an architect, writer, designer, philosopher, theosophist and geometer who wrote about the fourth dimension (among other things) in the late 19th and early 20th century. I'll probably be posting about him somewhat frequently as I've made it a goal to collect first editions from Manas Press.
